jobs and such
So the last two weeks have been crazy. Last weekend I went to Florida for Jon's 30th bday. I don't think I heard a single person refer to it as dirty thirty, yay.... When I landed in Fort Lauderdale, I had a voicemail from Herron School of art at IUPUI, they are flying me there this Wednesday to Friday for a 2nd round of interviews!! I have to give a 45 minute lecture on my work and a 2 hour critique of student work. I've been busting ass on the lecture as that is way over twice as long as I've ever had to talk about my work. Keep your fingers crossed for me. I guess my interview in New York did go well so let's hope this set does too. I have to meet with the associate dean, department chair, committee, etc etc
oh and if you are around LA and want to come hear my practice lecture, it's tonight at 7 at my place, give me a yell.
Speaking of job applications, I got the most jackass return this week and the very nicest. The nicest and sincerest was from the University of Alabama, because we Alabamaians have tact. The worst was from UNKNOWN, they only sent back my portfolio CD and nothing else. Not even a stamp on the return address so I know who it came from. What kinda stupid do you have to be to do something like that?
Oh and after one false death, my SLR is dead. She was a good camera, she's been to several countries and more states than most people. She took a TON of pictures (really rough estimate of 100,000), but finally the CCD seems to have stopped registering anything. Of course this couldn't really come at a worse time since I have no money to replace her. I think I'm going to get a cheap nikon to replace her. at least for now, it'll keep me going. I'll get something better in fall.
